First, let me say that I starting feeling a little guilty about getting so anxious and grumpy about not having a kitchen. We get so used to these comforts...like running water...and then I remembered that I had it better than 90% of the world and I started feeling a little guilty. So, now that I've confessed to the guilt, I do have to say that I am glad to have the kitchen back. Here are some of the pix from yesterday and today.
While unpacking, Nick came across this gift from his brother and sister-in-law. It came with a grilling kit that they gave him for Christmas. So, he modeled some of his favorite kitchen features for you....the microwave, the sink, and the best one being the running water, which we finally got today!

Kelly & Nick,
You have a beautiful kitchen. It looks roomy and well-designed. Now comes the hard part of filling it with food :) I hope you enjoy it for years to come.

WOW!!!!!! That looks wonderful!!! I can't wait to come down and see it. (Maybe Nick can do more than just model his favorite things, maybe he can actually use them when we come down!!) I'm sure now you're thinking it was worth the wait. Well, maybe you're thinking it would have been worth it even if they had been done earlier!!! You guys did good!! Mom
(I'm still waiting on pictures of the outside of the front door!)
What kind of wood are your cabinets made of?
I too love the kitchen!! I love the darker cabinets and the counter top looks awesome. Is it granite?

What a great kitchen, sometimes the
wait makes it even better and it is really beautiful!! You done good, girl, and that gorgeous hunk sets it off wonderfully! I've even
heard that your "chef" CAN cook!
What a life you're going to have
now that you're in (I hope)your
home for good!
Love, Grandma B.
Kelly,
First, the kitchen looks wonderful! The cabinets are beautiful! Well done!
Second, I completely understand the guilt feeling. I've been experiencing the same thing this week. Both our refrigerator and our dishwasher broke down within the past week and a half and you all know the rule in our house about washing dishes by hand. Anyway, we had our food out in the garage in an old fridge and I've been busy keeping bottles and dishes washed. The fridge was fixed after a weekend of having to run down to the garage to constantly grab something and today Scott mentioned going and getting a new dishwasher! The guilt set in. Yes, I hate washing dishes by hand, but honestly, what a luxury to just have the clean water to do it! Crazy how we get so caught up with such things isn't it and a broken dishwasher and fridge can make you think about how good you've got it!
Gail, the countertops aren't granite...it's that new Wilsonart laminate that looks like granite. The sink, though, is granite. We really liked the look of soapstone and wanted that, but it was too pricey with as many other things that needed done at the house. We thought that it would be better to spend the money elsewhere and that if we wanted we could have them swapped out in the future. But we really like the laminate right now!! Heck, I would have been thrilled with plywood at this point! :)
Any new pictures Kelly? Also, you should put links on your page. It's easier to navigate back and forth to everybody else's.
What does the outside of your house look like?
